Our Story
We didn’t set out to open a pizzeria.
We just fell in love… with pizza, and with each other.
I grew up on the New York–New Jersey–Pennsylvania border, where pizza is practically its own food group. In 2014 I left the East Coast for the Midwest, landing in Richmond, Indiana in 2015. That’s where I met my husband.
In May 2015 I took him back home to meet my family. We walked into one of the little pizzerias I’d known my whole life, ordered a pie, and halfway through the first slice he looked at me and said, “This is incredible. Why don’t we have pizza like this in Indiana?”
That one bite planted the seed.
We asked a few of the old-school owners I grew up around if they’d ever want to expand out our way. The answer was always the same: “Too much work, kid.” So we decided if we wanted real East-Coast-style pizza in Richmond, we were going to have to make it ourselves.
We spent years perfecting it at home. Countless weekends were spent tweaking the sauce until it tasted just like the ones I grew up on—bright, slightly sweet, and cooked just long enough. Friends became our willing (and very honest) taste-testers. For years the dream felt just out of reach, we didn’t have the money to do it on our own. Then, in 2022, my dad finally saw what we saw. After tasting one too many of our “this is it!” test pizzas, he said, “All right, I’m in.” His belief, his love (and his savings) became the foundation we needed to actually open the doors. In 2023 we finally nailed the dough: chewy, airy, with that perfect crisp on the bottom that only comes from the right hydration, the right flour, and a whole lot of trial and error.
In April 2023 we took the leap and opened our first little spot. Seven months later, in November 2023, we moved into the place we now call home.
Every pizza we make is the same one my husband fell in love with that night back East—only now we get to share it with all of you. From our little corner of Indiana, we’re bringing a big slice of the tri-state area to your table, one perfectly blistered pie at a time.
Thank you for letting us be part of your Fridays, your game days, your celebrations, and your ordinary Tuesdays that deserve something extraordinary.
We’re so glad you’re here.
